Albena Spasova Joins the Board of Directors of the European Edtech Alliance

The Chairperson of the Management Board and co-founder of EdTech Bulgaria, Albena Spasova, was elected as a member of the new Board of Directors of the European Edtech Alliance. During the organization’s annual meeting, held in early October in Amsterdam, seven new members were elected, all with experience in various industries and organizations in the field of educational technology.

„I am delighted to join the Board of Directors of the European Edtech Alliance and to collaborate with the CEO Beth Havinga and the fellow Board members for the development of the European and Bulgarian edtech sectors. There are many opportunities for organizations working in the field of educational technology, but also many challenges. We are a continent with over 200 languages and curricula that exceed the number of countries. Our task is to help European small and medium-sized edtech companies develop, because only they can meet the unique and diverse needs of Europe,“ said Albena Spasova.

The European Edtech Alliance (European Edtech Alliance) unites 26 organizations from 23 countries, representing over 2600 edtech companies working on the development of educational technologies. The organization works on various initiatives in cooperation with the European Commission and the European Council to promote innovation and create regulations that support the sector. The election of Albena Spasova as a member of the Management Board will enable the Bulgarian edtech community to be more widely represented at European level.

„Stronger representation on the European edtech scene will help Bulgarian organizations to create new partnerships, share good practices and participate in the formation of policies and standards for digital education at European level and its subsequent adaptation in the Bulgarian context. And, last but not least, Bulgarian organizations will have more opportunities to participate in European programs, projects and networks supporting innovations in education,“ Albena Spasova said.

On October 24 and 25, Albena Spasova will participate in the EdTech Innovators Forum 2024, which EdTech Bulgaria organizes in cooperation with Sofia Tech Park, the National School of Management and Social Innovators Bulgaria. The event will be held in the laboratory complex of Sofia Tech Park, where leading experts in technology, education and business will meet. Participation is free, and registration is required, which can be done here: EdTech Innovators Forum 2024.
