Technology in Education Only Matters When It Leads to Real Change

Kalin Kirov, Founder and CEO of KEISIEM, in an interview for Inside View

“Change in education cannot happen individually, but only through the unification of people, ideas, and experience,” said Kalin Kirov, founder and CEO of KEISIEM in an interview for Inside View. In Inside View, we present our community — the people and organizations behind “EdTech Bulgaria” — through their ideas, experience, and perspectives on education and technology. KEISIEM is a member of “EdTech Bulgaria.”

According to him, technology should play an instrumental rather than a leading role in education. The best results are achieved when digital solutions are used purposefully and in alignment with clearly defined educational goals.

“The main goal of technology is not simply to modernize the environment, but to transform the way learning happens,” Kirov emphasized.

He believes that modern students are significantly more engaged when technology is integrated meaningfully, while the role of the teacher remains essential.

“The teacher should be a mentor and guide in the learning process, not merely an operator of high-tech equipment,” he added.

Kirov describes Bulgaria’s position regarding educational technology as “intermediate.” In his view, the implementation of digital solutions remains uneven, while higher education continues to lag behind secondary education.

According to him, there is a lack of sufficient mechanisms for piloting innovative solutions, as well as easier access for companies to the school environment.

As a member of “EdTech Bulgaria,” KEISIEM sees significant value in building a community between companies, institutions, and educational organizations.
