Goal:
The project “EdTech Innovators 2026: Virtual Sofia with a real future” aims to encourage young people to take an active role in creating a more sustainable and better urban environment. Through STEM approaches and digital technologies, the initiative develops participants’ creative thinking, teamwork skills, and ability to turn their ideas into concrete proposals for Sofia’s future.
Activities:
The main activity is a competition in the virtual environment of Minecraft Education, which will take place in Sofia from 30 September to 30 October 2026. As part of the initiative, children, young people, teachers, and parents will take part in hands-on activities, thematic workshops, and challenges focused on sustainable development, innovation, the urban environment, and social entrepreneurship. With educational support from T’each’One, participants will develop, test, and present their own solutions for the city’s development in a virtual environment.

Key dates:
- 10 September – Webinar 1: Minecraft Education – Level 1.
- 17 September – Webinar 2: Minecraft Education – Level 2.
- 24 September – Deadline for students to register for the competition.
- 25 September – Confirmation of acceptance to the competition.
- 30 September – In-person opening event, “The City We Want,” at Muzeiko.
- 21 October – Deadline for submitting the assignment.
- 23 October – Announcement of the three teams advancing to the final.
- 30 October – Final event at Muzeiko, where the three teams will further develop their worlds in real time according to predefined criteria.
