The framework also encourages learners to think beyond being users. They should understand how AI shapes society, participate in discussions about ethical AI, and contribute to creating a future where AI benefits everyone.

Key Recommendations for Schools

The framework offers practical guidance for educators and school leaders rather than prescribing a new subject. Among its most important recommendations are:

  • Use AI to enhance learning—not replace thinking

AI should support inquiry, creativity, and reflection rather than substitute students’ own reasoning and problem-solving.

  • Teach critical evaluation

Students should routinely question AI-generated content, verify facts using reliable sources, and recognize that AI systems can produce inaccurate or misleading information.

  • Make ethics a core part of AI education

Topics such as fairness, transparency, accountability, privacy, intellectual property, and human rights should be integrated into classroom discussions and learning activities.

  • Protect learners’ privacy

Students need to understand what information is safe to share with AI tools and how their data may be collected or used.

  • Integrate AI literacy across the curriculum

AI literacy should not be confined to computer science classes. The framework encourages its integration into language learning, mathematics, science, arts, and social sciences.

  • Invest in teachers

Teachers need ongoing professional development to confidently evaluate AI tools, design meaningful learning experiences, and guide students toward responsible AI use.
