On March 1, 2025, the TechWell – Digital Wellness in Schools project, co-financed under the Erasmus+ Policy Experimentation program, was officially launched. The project aims to improve the digital well-being of students and teachers by developing innovative tools, methodologies, and educational resources. Its main goal is to support schools in building healthier digital habits and promoting mental and emotional health in the learning environment.
The coordinator of the initiative is the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. The partner consortium brings together leading organizations from Europe:
- EdTech Bulgaria (Bulgaria)
- Association “Center for Educational Initiatives” (Bulgaria)
- Fondazione Hallgarten-Franchetti Centro Studi Villa Montesca (Italy)
- Dublin City University (Ireland)
- EDX Education’s Digital Experts Hungary Nonprofit Kft. (Hungary)
- University of Patras (Greece)
- National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic (Czech Republic).
Over the next three years, TechWell will work on:
– Creating national strategies for digital wellbeing;
– Developing the Digital Wellbeing Suite (DWS) – a toolkit for schools in six European countries;
– Training and supporting teachers, principals, and parents in implementing best practices for digital culture and healthy habits.
With this project, Bulgaria becomes a leader in European efforts to achieve more balanced and safe digital education.
