AI Will Not Replace Teachers — But It Will Change the Way We Learn

Plamena Bourgoudjieva, Country Manager of Noventiq Bulgaria, in an interview for Inside View section

“Education is no longer being digitized — it is being rewritten.” This was stated by Plamena Bourgoudjieva in an interview for our new “Inside View” section. In it, we present our community — the people and organizations behind EdTech Bulgaria — through their ideas, experience, and perspectives on education and technology. Noventiq Bulgaria is a member of EdTech Bulgaria.

Bourgoudjieva shared that technology is no longer simply a classroom tool, but the environment in which learning happens. According to her, the real transformation lies in changing the educational model itself — from passive learning to active participation and practical application of knowledge.

In the interview, she highlighted Bulgaria’s strong potential for developing the EdTech sector thanks to its technology industry, talented professionals, and growing ecosystem.

“Real progress will come when technology becomes a natural part of the everyday work of teachers and students,” Bourgoudjieva said.

Among the key challenges to digital transformation in education, she points to the lack of sufficient teacher training and support, as well as the need for better coordination and a long-term strategy.

According to her, the future of education will become more flexible, personalized, and strongly influenced by AI technologies.

“AI will not replace teachers, but it will replace the way we learn,” she added.
